You have questions.
We're here to answer them.
When a loved one needs long-term care, the questions come fast: What are our options? How will we pay for it? Where do we even start? We focus on one thing: helping Florida families understand and apply for Medicaid long-term care benefits. We help families across Florida, wherever their loved one receives care.
Personal Consultation
Start with clear answers.
Every family's situation is different, so every plan starts with a conversation. We'll learn about your loved one's care needs and financial picture, explain which Medicaid program may fit, and walk you through what the process will look like. Consultations are available by appointment by phone, video call, or in person. We're happy to meet at our Lake City office, or at your home or your loved one's care facility within about an hour of Lake City. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your next steps, with no pressure and no obligation.
Nursing Home Medicaid Applications (ICP)
For loved ones who are in, or entering, a nursing home.
Florida's Institutional Care Program (ICP) can help pay for nursing home care, but the application is detailed and the documentation requirements are strict. We give you a clear checklist of what's needed, review everything for accuracy, and prepare and file the application. Throughout the process, we serve as your designated representative with the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and guide the application through to approval.
Home and Community-Based Medicaid (HCBS Waiver)
For loved ones who want to receive care at home or in an assisted living facility.
Florida's long-term care waiver can help cover services at home or in an assisted living facility. Access begins with a phone screening through your local Aging and Disability Resource Center, and many applicants wait for an opening. Before the screening, we walk you through the questions you'll be asked and help you understand what each one is really about, so you can describe your loved one's needs accurately and completely. Along the way, we'll help you know what to expect next. When it's time to apply, we serve as your designated representative with DCF and guide the application through to approval.
Renewals and Ongoing Support
Keeping benefits in place after approval.
Medicaid benefits must be renewed every year, and changes in income, assets, or living situation have to be reported to DCF. We help families complete renewals, respond to DCF requests, and report changes accurately, whether we filed the original application or you're coming to us for the first time.
Working Alongside Elder Law Attorneys
We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. When a family's situation calls for legal planning, we work hand-in-hand with trusted elder law attorneys throughout Florida, including your own attorney if you already have one.
